Erachi Ularthiyathu With Coco Amino

This spicy and flavorful beef fry is a Kerala classic, made with tender pieces of beef, fried with aromatic spices, and infused with the rich flavour of Balino’s Coco Amino.
Ingredients:
- 500g beef, cubed
- 2 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, minced
- 2 green chilies, slit
- 1 sprig curry leaves
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 tablespoon black pepper, coarsely ground
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon red chili powder
- 1 tablespoon ground coriander
- 2 tablespoon Balion’s Coco Aminos Original
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions:
Pressure cook the beef with a pinch of turmeric and salt, or slow-cook until tender. Drain and set aside.
Heat coconut oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them crackle. Add curry leaves and green chilies.
Stir in the sliced onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onions are caramelised.
Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, ground coriander, and coarsely ground black pepper to the onion mixture. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
Add the cooked beef to the pan along with Balion’s Coco Aminos Original. Stir-fry on medium-high heat until the beef is well coated with the spices and turns crispy and brown.
Add garam masala in the last few minutes of cooking, stirring to combine.
Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with rice, Kerala parotta, or chapati. This dish is a spicy, dry preparation packed with flavour.
